A special note about adolescents

If you are trying to get help for your adolescent, I applaud you. Most parents are oblivious or choose to ignore this issue. I believe drugs and alcohol are killing our youth. I want to help adolescents find recovery at a young age so they can avoid the pain and suffering of a lifetime of drug and alcohol abuse. As a parent, you have the opportunity to seek assistance for your youth. However, if they are not interested in getting and staying sober, I can not help you. Once I complete an Intake Assessment, I will be honest with you about whether or not I can help your adolescent. If I can’t, I will give you some referrals for other options. If your adolescent is accepted for counseling sessions with me, I will want to maintain as much rapport with them as possible. This means I will not give you play by play details of what is communicated in counseling sessions. I ask that you respect that, knowing that it is your child’s life and future that is in jeopardy. Of course, there are always exceptions, which will be discussed with you.
